IT Projects

Project management within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) is done for several reasons:

  • To aid in project planning and oversight
  • To promote HSC-wide technology strategies
  • To maximize technical compatibility
  • To minimize redundancies across TAMHSC
  • To leverage specialized skills
  • To assess and control costs
  • To improve results

Our project management initiative has been developed to assess TAMHSC needs and to utilize our institution's resources effectively. By utilizing a project management methodology, OIT hopes to provide you a roadmap to a successful project.

Getting Started

The first step to a successful project is completing a formal project request form.

When filling out the form, it is important to have a clear vision that you want to work toward. Defining the project in detail may require preliminary work on your part, but the process will prove helpful throughout the planning and implementation stages. By considering all the requirements, issues and deliverables needed in advance, your chances for a successful project outcome increase. Accounting information is required on the form, unless the request is for a quote only. See project protocol.

What to Expect

Once the form is completed and submitted, it will be reviewed by OIT leadership, and the appropriate OIT staff will get back with you about the possible plan of action.
