Conferencing Options

A high-speed optical network is utilized to link our institution's six academic units throughout the state. With TAMHSC campuses in nine cities, OIT uses these connections for valuable video conferencing capabilities that serve to educate students and effectively transfer information. This is an enterprise solution for instruction, collaboration and meetings which includes:

  • Tandberg video conferencing - utilizes the HSC network of hardware, software and technical support.
  • Web conferencing gives meeting attendees the convenience of utilizing desktop software and applications for instruction, group meetings or collaboration. Options at TAMHSC include:
    • Google+ Hangouts - allows instantaneous video chat with up to 9 people in small group meetings or collaboration
    • TTVN WebMeeting (TAMUS-based) - web conferencing that can include app sharing as well as interactive white-boarding and web surveys

For optimal utilization of web conferencing, it is recommended that you have a webcam and a microphone.
